Brownies
This recipe comes from “The Love of a Man,” an American cookbook from the 1950s full of lavish dishes meant to spark a husband’s passion. These brownies also work quite well if your husband is ever suffering from an acute cholesterol deficiency.
-
6.2 oz (175 g) unsalted butter
-
4.2 oz (120 g) dark chocolate
-
2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
-
3 eggs
-
1 1/2 cups (175 g) all-purpose flour
-
1/2 ts salt
-
6.2 oz (175 g) milk chocolate
-
1.8 oz (50 g) mixed nuts
1. Melt the butter with the dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly. Once the chocolate has melted, add the sugar and let it dissolve into the chocolate mixture.
2. Add the eggs, flour, and salt to the chocolate mixture and stir well.
3. Coarsely chop the nuts and milk chocolate. Fold them into the batter.
4. Pour the batter into a baking pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
5. Let it cool for at least 20 minutes, then cut into squares.
