Cheese Steak Sandwich
When life is a bitch,
make a cheese steak sandwich.
-
1 sweet white onion, cut into rings
-
1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
-
200 g ribeye steak, sliced thinly
-
2 ciabatta rolls
-
3 tbsp butter
-
6 to 8 slices of aged cheddar cheese
1. Sauté the onion and green bell pepper in 1 tbsp butter for 12–15 minutes, until soft and lightly caramelized.
2. Bake the ciabatta rolls in the oven according to the indicated baking time. Remove them 3 minutes before the end. Slice them open, spread with butter, and top with cheddar. Return to the oven for another 3 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil with 1 tbsp butter over high heat. Quickly sear the ribeye so it gets a nice crust while staying juicy. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Assemble the cheese sandwiches with the steak, onion, and bell pepper.
